PDFCamScanner ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application (the "App") collects, uses, and discloses your information in compliance with the Google Play Store developer policies.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Device Permissions

To provide its core functionality, the App requires the following sensitive permissions:

  • Camera: Used exclusively to capture images of physical documents for the purpose of scanning and converting them to PDF.
  • Storage / Photos / Media / Files: Used to save your generated documents to your device's local storage and to allow you to import existing images from your gallery for scanning.
  • Internet & Network State: Used to display advertisements to non-premium users, process in-app purchases, and collect anonymous crash reports and performance metrics.
  • Advertising ID (AD_ID): Used by Google AdMob to provide personalized advertisements and for basic analytics.

1.2 User Data

  • Local Processing: All document scanning, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), and PDF generation happen locally on your device. We do not upload your documents, images, or extracted text to our servers.
  • Authentication: We use Firebase Authentication for user accounts. When you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile info (email, name) which is used solely for managing your premium subscription and app preferences.
  • Payments: In-app purchases are handled securely by the Google Play Store billing system. We do not collect or store your credit card or financial information.

1.3 Third-Party Services

We use reputable third-party services that may collect data for specific purposes:

  • Google AdMob: To show ads. They may use your device's Advertising ID for interest-based advertising.
  • Firebase (Google Analytics / Crashlytics): To collect anonymous data on app crashes and general usage patterns to help us improve the App's stability.

2. Children’s Privacy

PDFCamScanner does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Our App is designed as a productivity tool for students and professionals. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal info, we will take steps to delete such information from our records immediately.

3. Data Safety & Retention

  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal data or document content to third parties.
  • User Control: You can manage or delete your app data by clearing the app cache or uninstalling the App. Documents saved to your device's storage must be manually deleted.
  • Security: We use industry-standard security measures provided by Firebase to protect account-related data.

4. Disclosures

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
