Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how NoBrainRot ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

A. Accessibility Service Data

NoBrainRot uses the Android Accessibility Service API to detect when you are using specific social media applications (such as Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts).

  • What we track: We only monitor the package name of the active application and specific UI event heuristics (like video scrolling) to calculate your "brainrot" usage time.
  • What we DO NOT track: We do not read your messages, view your private photos, capture passwords, or monitor any data outside of the designated social media apps.
  • Processing: All accessibility data is processed locally on your device. We do not transmit your raw activity logs to our servers.

B. Usage Statistics

If granted permission, we collect usage statistics (time spent in apps) via the Android UsageStats API to provide you with focus analytics. This data stays on your device.

C. Account Information

If you choose to sign in via Google or Email, we collect:

  • Your name and email address.
  • Your focus scores and milestone progress (stored securely in Firebase Cloud Firestore to sync across your devices).

D. Device Information

We may collect basic technical information about your device (model, OS version) to improve app stability and performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide real-time tracking and the Picture-in-Picture (PIP) overlay.
  • To display your progress milestones and "Mascot Evolution" stages.
  • To allow you to join focus groups and compete with friends.
  • To enforce the "Anti-Doomscroll" blocking features you enable.

3. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Data: Most of your usage data is stored locally on your device.
  • Cloud Data: If you use the social features, your anonymized scores and account info are stored using Google Firebase. We use industry-standard encryption to protect this data.
  • Retention: We keep your data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and data at any time through the app settings.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party providers:

  • Google Firebase: For authentication and database syncing.
  • Google Play In-App Purchases: To process subscriptions securely. We never see or store your credit card information.

5. Children's Privacy

NoBrainRot is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we have stored about you.
  • Request the deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Withdraw your consent for Accessibility or Usage permissions at any time through your device settings.
