1. Introduction

Welcome to Device Info ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclosure, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide better services to all our users. This includes:

a. Device and Technical Information

We collect detailed information about your device hardware and software to perform the App's core diagnostic functions. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Device Identifiers: Model, manufacturer, board name.
  • System Info: Operating system version, API level, kernel version, security patch level.
  • Hardware Info: Battery status (health, voltage, temperature), CPU usage, memory (RAM) usage, storage capacity, sensor data (accelerometer, gyroscope, etc.), and display metrics.
  • Network Info: Wi-Fi connection status, signal strength, and network type.

b. App Usage and Installed Applications

The App uses the PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS permission to provide you with insights into your app usage habits. We access:

  • A list of installed applications on your device.
  • Objects containing usage statistics (e.g., time spent in each app).

Note: This data is processed locally on your device to display statistics to you. We do not transmit this personal usage data to our servers.

c. Location Data

We request ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION permissions.

  • Purpose: This permission is primarily required by the Android system to access Wi-Fi SSID/BSSID information and Bluetooth scanning capabilities, which are part of our network diagnostic tools.
  • GPS Data: Use of GPS APIs is strictly limited to verifying GPS sensor functionality (signal lock time and accuracy).

d. Camera and Microphone

  • Camera: Accessed solely to perform the Flashlight test and Camera hardware verification. We do not record or save photos/videos without your explicit action.
  • Microphone: Accessed solely to perform the Microphone test (measuring decibel levels). Audio data is processed in real-time to display the sound level and is not recorded, saved, or transmitted anywhere.

3. Third-Party Services and Ads

We use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you.

Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in our App. AdMob may collect and use:

  • Advertising ID (AAID): To provide personalized ads.
  • Usage Data: Interactions with ads.
  • Diagnostics: Crash logs and performance data.

Google's use of this data is governed by their privacy policy: Google Privacy Policy.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Core Functionality: To display device diagnostics, tests, and hardware details.
  • App Improvements: To detect crashes and improve stability.
  • Advertising: To display relevant ads via Google AdMob.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we strictly delete this from our servers.

If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.
